Opinion about the film War of the Gods: Immortals | Immortals

Good day everyone.
I literally just finished watching the “wonderful” film War of the Gods: Immortals. I confess, I downloaded it from torrents, because I felt that it was not worth spending money on a movie ticket for such a thing. But let’s start in order.

What’s the point of the film??

The main villain, played by Mickey Rourke, wanting to free the Titans, in the course of the plot kills the mother of the main character, which is naturally a huge mistake, because our fearless hero goes for revenge and confuses all the plans of the insidious king. All. The entire plot of the film fits into one sentence. Commendable, nothing more to say. And now in more detail.

Locations and heroes

The case takes place in the eleventh year BC.uh., what influenced the scenery in the film. The main character, Theseus, lives with his mother in a poor village on the edge of the sea. Theseus is a typical atheist who does not believe in Gods, who will have to fight to avenge his mother. The actor playing Theseus is not bad, but nothing more. The scenery is zero, we are shown bare rocks and squalid houses.
Now the most intriguing thing – Olympus. The home of the great Gods looks… sad. And this is still a commendable assessment. Probably the director himself realized that they messed up with the house of the Gods, and that’s why they show it to us only 2-3 times and then only briefly

Perhaps the Gods themselves look https://rembrandt-casino.co.uk/withdrawal/ worse than Olympus. I don’t know about you, but to me the immortal gods appear in the form of stately men with the inevitable beard, who calmly look at the earth from the heights of their abode. How does director Tarsem Singh introduce the Gods to us?? And here’s how – a couple of half-naked 20-year-old pumped up guys and a blonde with a poker face for the entire film

the kazaky??

Moreover, it is really difficult to distinguish the Gods – I recognized Poseidon only because of the trident. And what stupid hats do they wear??? At first I generally mistook Hephaestus for Apollo – I thought that he was wearing something like a sun with rays on his head. Not Gods, but models who escaped from the show of a newfangled stylist.

But the Gods are not at the top of the list of the stupidest characters in the film. Number 1 is securely held by the Titans. Although no, not like that – titans.

here they are, holding the reinforcement in their teeth

And I understand that when creating the film, the director did not give a damn about myths, but to depict the mighty Titans, the children of Uranus and Gaia, as a pack of barking parkour athletes is too much!

This is what the strongest deities look like. not recognized?

I have listed the most remarkable aspects of this “film”. You don’t have to talk at all about the mishmash of myths that the film’s authors put together, forgetting about the correctness of these very myths. You can remain silent about the fact that Hyperion, the main villain in the film, was historically actually a Titan, and not some kind of mortal. I really laughed at the scene in which Zeus threatens with death those Gods who stand up for people. In my naivety, I always thought that the Gods were immortal, but the director obviously considered this to be discrimination against people, so towards the end of the film, Zeus, with one swing of a fiery whip (it’s strange that Zeus does not use his famous rod – the most powerful weapon on earth, but where do I care about the scriptwriters’ logic) kills Hephaestus, his son. Gods are mortal. I repeat – gods are mortal. The biggest shock for me.

There is even a love line in the film, but it is crumpled and does not evoke any emotions.

Pros
The only good thing about this movie is Mickey Rourke. The 59-year-old actor is at his best as always, and his image is the only acceptable one in this film. I can’t understand how he agreed to take part in this farce.

"what am I doing here. »

The special effects also look good, as they say, “at the level”. Shooting from the Epirus bow looks great, and slow-mo during battles is not bad.

In general, the film receives a negative review. This is my personal opinion, but most ordinary viewers and critics agree with me. If you are at least a little familiar with Greek mythology, and you are not impressed by the boring dialogue of poorly developed characters, do not watch this film, save your time for something more worthwhile.
