Good day, dear residents of Stopgame! Today I would like to talk about the Russian Rock Band “Operation Plasticine”, founded by my fellow countrymen from Tambov. Honestly, I found out about this group just a few days ago, from my friend, who dug it up on one of the Rock Forums. I don’t think this is something very surprising; the group is not very well known even now, although it was founded in 2002. But only after a change in composition a couple of years ago, if I may, “Brewed out into the public”, I sang several times with the not very popular (but also not bad) “Brigade Contract” and the more famous “Semantic Hallucinations”. Before that, she was not the most active participant in local rock festivals (“Rock over Tsnoi”, “Punk Rock Lessons”, etc.d.)
Despite the fact that the group was formed back in 2002, the first STUDIO album “Hour of Drawing” was recorded only in 2008. In the same year, the first video for the song “Build Yourself” was recorded.
In 2009, the group changed its name to MAMA and recorded a new album, “Operation Plasticine”.
A year later, in 2010, the band returned with a much updated lineup, but the same name, and in 2011 they recorded a new album, Lucky 7’s (the first one I heard). In 2012, the group recorded a video for the song “Dragonfly”, which I consider the best in their track record, although I confess I haven’t heard very many of their songs, I’m catching up now.
The group’s latest creation was the album “Euphoria” (2013). For the last two years, the band has been actively participating in various Rock festivals.
