FlexZone
Samsung’s refrigerators are distinctive. While LG is a leader in terms of features that are innovative, Samsung has a few things to offer that make them stand out. For instance, certain Samsung models have the Food Showcase design and a FlexZone section that can function as either a freezer or fridge. This section has a customizable Smart Divider that can help organize the items and keep them at the proper temperature.
This model is an excellent choice for those looking for a sleek, modern look in their kitchen. It’s finished in stainless steel and has an un-handle design. It is a great fit in any style of kitchen. It also offers plenty of storage space with two crisper bins that are humidity-controlled and three adjustable shelves that can be moved to different positions as needed. This refrigerator is also ENERGY-STAR certified, so you can be sure that it will lower your energy bills.
Samsung’s FlexZone feature allows you to convert your bottom section into a freezer or fridge depending on what you need. This is a great method to maximize storage space and save money on electricity. FlexZone can be used to store both fresh and frozen food simultaneously. This feature is only available on specific Samsung French door fridges.
The Samsung FlexZone refrigerator has a flexible layout that can accommodate many different kinds of food and beverages. The compartments are separated by doors with independently controlled temperatures. The shelves can be adjusted to fit the taller or larger items. It also comes with an Ice maker that can make cubes and crushed ice. It also comes with a full-width pantry drawer for storing deli meats as well as party platters.
This Samsung refrigerator is large in capacity of storage and is ideal for those who have limited space. The modern and sleek design comes with doors that open to make it easy to get your favorite snacks. The refrigerator has an inverter that can be controlled digitally and is constructed of robust materials that will last for a long time. It also has a recessed pivot that minimizes air gap and helps keep your refrigerator operating smoothly.
Door-in-Door
Door-in-Door refrigerators have a separate compartment inside the refrigerator that opens with one pull of the handle, making it easier to grab drinks, condiments, or snacks without opening the main refrigerator. This can help reduce the loss of cold air and help keep food fresher for longer. Some refrigerators come with this technology as a separate option, while others, such as the LG Side-by-Side Refrigerator LRMVC2306S integrate it into the design of the refrigerator so that opening the dedicated door opens both the door-indoor compartment and the main refrigerator compartment.
While many refrigerator bells and whistles may feel like gimmicks for some but they are designed to address the real needs of consumers. The Door-in-Door compartment in Samsung refrigerators is a good example. It allows you to easily access items like butter, ketchup, and milk that are frequently used without opening up the entire refrigerator, which could result in the loss of cold air.
Other examples include other examples include the Family Hub interactive refrigerator doors found on a few Samsung French-door models. They let you plan your calendar, stream apps and make to-do lists from the fridge’s touchscreen. Certain fridges are equipped with cameras so you can check your food and beverages from any location.
Family Hub
A 21-inch touchscreen powered by Tizen is integrated fridge frezer; read, into the refrigerator. It can be used as a digital board, smart speaker powered by Bixby, fridge manager and tablet powered by apps. The fridge also has three tiny cameras that capture images each when the door is closed. This lets you look inside. (This feature is not available in all markets yet.) The Family Hub comes preloaded with various apps to aid you in staying in touch with your family members, from food delivery services to recipes apps, to a whiteboard that lets you leave messages for each other or your children.
The Family Hub offers a variety of apps to keep everyone entertained. For instance you can play music directly through the built-in speakers in the smeg fridge–the perfect soundtrack for spontaneous kitchen dance celebrations. You can also use the touchscreen to stream TV shows from your smartphone or other Samsung devices, including TVs with built-in fridge support for Samsung’s SmartThings platform.
The Family Hub is not without its drawbacks. The lack of an app store for third party apps is one of the most notable. This means that if you do not like the default screens or apps, you can’t simply download a different one. This can be a problem when you’d prefer to use an alternative application for shopping lists, reminders or loyalty programs.
Another limitation is that you can’t make use of voice control to interact with the refrigerator. When Samsung first unveiled its Family Hub refrigerator, Alexa was the most prominent item on the list of features. This meant that the fridge could essentially be an Amazon Echo for the kitchen. But, it never came to be but it is an unremarkable omission.
Despite its limitations, the Family hub is still a useful and impressive gadget. It’s a great tool to stay in touch with your family, organize your cooking and food items, and manage your home’s smart devices if you’re a Samsung customer and you’re willing to utilize the app-only options the Family Hub offers.
SmartThings
SmartThings might not receive the same attention as Amazon Alexa or Google Home however, it’s a formidable platform for smart homes. Its hub comes with Z-Wave and Zigbee radios which allows you to connect a wide range of compatible devices like Lutron, Sonos, Ecobee, Lifx, Ring, Belkin, Arlo, and Philips Hue. SmartThings also features Scenes, which let you control a variety of compatible devices simultaneously. For example, you can create an “movie night” scene that dims the lights and switches on your Blu-ray player.
SmartThings is an app that allows you to control and monitor various connected appliances, including your fridge. The app will notify you if the refrigerator is consuming too much energy, for instance. It will then alter the settings of your appliance to help you reach your energy savings goals. The SmartThings app can also set up custom schedules and create automations that will shut off your dishwasher or oven before you go to bed, for example.
Since Samsung acquired SmartThings in 2014, the app has been already installed on all Samsung smartphones and tablets. It’s among the most reliable systems for home automation, but it’s not without problems. Many users have reported significant server outages. This is a major issue for those who depend heavily on their home automation technology. The good news is that these outages usually only last some time, and the company’s engineers are working to resolve the issue.
If you’re looking for a smart fridge that will connect to other appliances in your home, the SmartThings-compatible Family Hub is an excellent choice. It is compatible with a range of smart gadgets made by third-party companies and other Samsung devices. It is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Mercedes Benz’s voice assistant, which allows you to use whatever platform you prefer.
The Family Hub fridge is also packed with other smart home features, including a touchscreen display as well as a digital whiteboard and a camera. It is easy to write notes and schedule reminders on the screen, and use the whiteboard feature to share shopping lists or grocery lists with others in your household.
