Black Mark: Review

posted in: Class Actions | 0

Moscow has changed in 2020. It was then that the citizens of the once glorious metropolis supported the introduction of the reality show “Black Mark” by popular vote. The mechanics of the game are as follows: a potential criminal is given the black mark that appears in the title, after which a real hunt begins for him. The infected person has several options: either try to fraudulently transfer the mark to someone else, or run away from heavily armed thugs sent to eliminate him. Thus, Russia has turned into an ideal state: no banditry, no political opposition, no debauchery, no prostitution. I thought so too, until I woke up in my apartment in the morning and found the ill-fated black object in my pocket.

However, let’s get to know each other. My name is Nikolai Kolomov, I’m 30 years old and before that terrible moment I worked as a web designer, lived in a small apartment in a residential area and had absolutely no idea what could happen to me tomorrow. But tomorrow came and I woke up to the phone ringing. I was worried about the one who later helped me get out of all this mess. He called himself simply and uncomplicatedly – B. B quickly brought me out of my sleepy state, explaining that due to a combination of circumstances I had become a victim of the “Black Mark”.

Since I was last on the list, and, therefore, could no longer pass on my brand to anyone, I had only one thing left to do – run. The newly-minted assistant advised to get out of the city as soon as possible, and since all the main highways were blocked, he recommended using the non-working metro stations. Moreover, the organization “Antimetka”, which advocates the destruction of the devil’s show and, in general, the current state system as a whole, became interested in my person. And they, as you know, keep their bases somewhere underground. Maybe they can help somehow?

The hunters did not leave me for a second, no matter where I ran. Aggressive, with creepy faces that I never imagined Stephen King on the pages of his most terrible novels, they chased me in the subway, television center, factories and landfills. The difficult one took me into a homeless shelter, and into a closed park inhabited by killer clowns, and into the lair of cannibals. Although I didn’t fall flat on my face – I learned not only to fight with the help of improvised objects, such as sticks, pipes and gas keys, but also to fire from firearms. Only the last thing came across only at the end of the action, when I had one foot at the finish line.

To be honest, I’ve made a lot of money in my life. Thank God, I always had my advanced PDA with me (my profession made itself known, I don’t go anywhere without a computer), which caught all incoming signals. Among them, it was not uncommon to come across offers to play a betting game that offered different conditions: kill the next three marauders silently or not receive a single injury in the next collision. What could I do – I played, killed, and received bonuses.

Of course, this whole show… it’s creepy, let’s be honest. When I heard the stomping of the killers behind me, my heart burst out of my chest. But I continued to fight – I wanted to live. But what frankly infuriated me was this Olga Buzova, which constantly chirped from the TVs. At one time I even wondered what disgusted me more: hunters or glamor. But the hunters are much more brutal guys: only punk rock could be heard from the speakers of their portable radios.

It’s hard to believe, but I survived. The last one who repeated my feat – Frankenstein – I killed during the final test. Now I’m home, with a substantial bonus in my hands and an offer from the president personally to become a hunter. Will I continue my normal life, will I accept the position of the head of state… Or, perhaps, as that dead guy from "Antimetka" said, I will begin to fight against the system? I don’t know, time will tell. But now – it was you who became a participant in the show "Black Mark" and now your fate is only in your hands.

Pros: atmosphere; original dystopian plot; the game is quite smart and challenging; various locations.
Cons: undeveloped combat system; graphics engine.

I would like to hear readers’ opinions on my article. I haven’t suffered from creative flight for quite some time, but the game hooked me in some ways, so I came up with such a free retelling-essay.

In general, I would like to https://luckymistercasino.uk/ know not only what readers think about this material, but also about the original articles in general. Are they needed?? Or is it better to read a high-quality template?

If Russian developers make a game, then 60% of it will be crap. 40% percent this is a cool game but with so many bugs that it will become simply uninteresting and impossible to play it(S.T.A.L.K.E.R.). I don’t know if it’s crooked hands or lack of time and money among the developers. About this game. I haven’t played it yet but I don’t feel like it. There is little joy in throwing away money for a dubious project. But not everyone has enough time and energy to wait for the next patch. So my answer to this game is no. IMHO.

There is an attempt to convey a certain idea, moreover, this game really makes you think about some problems. If this is what is important to you in games, you will find quite a lot for yourself in “Black Mark”. If you value, first of all, quality, then, no doubt, you really won’t like it.

Yes! Especially when he already smells like shit. What about some idea?. They were a little late with her. Let’s remember Manhunt. Which I can still play even though its quality (Manhunt) was not stellar. Before this there was the film "The Running Man" in the 80s. I think there were many such projects. So with an innovative idea they flew by. And even more so with quality. And the fact that Buzova is looming there and this is happening in Moscow does not solve anything. As they say: No matter how much you pour perfume on shit, the essence will remain the same and the smell will remain the same. Although Buzuwa cannot be called a spirit. So. cheap flavoring.

The article is so-so, it contains, in fact, only a description of the game, no detailed analysis of the pros and cons, no reasoned opinion about it.

In short, this is a low-budget project, which is bad. But – the small budget was spent wisely, so the game is a finished product, interesting and bug-free, and that’s good.
Lit.basis – the story of the same name by Dashkov. The game deviated quite a lot from it, and the plot turned out to be ambiguous.
However, there really is an Idea in the game. Unlike the same "Manhunt". And other numerous and faceless “dead people want to eat me”. The atmosphere of the “man hunt” in the game is conveyed very well.

According to the graphics: it’s not clear what’s wrong with the “engine”? The engine is very good, and there are undoubted advantages. This is a very realistic “light” and very beautiful shadows – both from the main character and from opponents. This is the animation of opponents and their behavior – they are practically “alive”. The mo-cap is done perfectly, and the character designs are quite good.

The gameplay of the game is addictive. There are basically no “crowds of monsters” here. And it’s a common thing to stand in some darkened tunnel and try to understand HOW the hunters move. Because any skirmish even with ONE hunter is fraught with loss of health. Always close combat. The "combat" is primitive: a "short" blow, a swinging blow (the longer you swing, the stronger), block. The last two options depend on “fatigue”, and you won’t be able to go to the “dead block”.
There are few firearms, and the game has an unpleasant convention: it cannot be reloaded, and you cannot pick up cartridges from the floor. That is, he took a hard drive with 4 rounds of ammunition, shot them – that’s it, look for a new hard drive.
The situation is saved by mines, which are cheap and work well. And – periodically encountered “interior details”, with the help of which you can destroy your pursuers.
There is non-illusory "stealth". You can, having understood how the enemies move, sneak up on someone from behind and strangle them. There are “finishing moves”: if the enemy falls, but is not finished off, then you can approach him and deliver a special blow. For example, a crowbar to the head :-).
The music in the game is good. Dialogues – sometimes excellent, sometimes disastrous. Personally, I liked the ravens’ monologues. And the cannibals are very colorful :-).
The idea with a “handheld” that connects to WiFi points on the levels, and you can both see pictures from security cameras and unlock doors, is a good one.

Well, the shortcomings are directly related to the low budget. No video. There are no beautiful videos on the engine. The character cannot jump, crouch, crawl, peek around corners, kick, and do a bunch of other things pleasing to the eye. The script and dialogue could have been better, as well as the actors invited to do the “voice”. The game is a bit short, although that may be a good thing – there is just enough variety in it to not get boring. "Bosses", although colorful, are easy to complete – no need to think about tactics.

Something like this. According to the five-point rating system, I give it a "4".
And the fact that Buzova is looming there and this is happening in Moscow does not solve anything.
That’s exactly what decides. This game perfectly shows modern Russia (more precisely, Moscow) with all its problems.

markiz87, You just don’t know :-). It’s a common thing – because there are many great games coming out in the world, it seems that there are no bad ones in the world. Nowhere except Russia. But you go to any gaming portal where there is a database of games, and look at HOW MUCH slag came out in 2008, and what percentage of it was made in the ex-USSR. I think you’ll be amazed, hehe ;). There is more of everything in the world – and..on, and candy.

In addition, "Black Mark" is a "niche" product. Well, what else came out in 2008 in the same genre?? And comparison with the obvious favorites (Condemned and Manhunt) is far from clear. "Mark", let’s say, is better than both of them in terms of graphics.

CryKitten, I understand that not only our “craftsmen” make terrible games. Yes, there really is a lot of slag, one could say a lot of it. The trouble is that this area is not developing here. It is low-budget, and in most cases it is done in a hurry and in a short time, hoping that the buyer or misunderstanding gamer will fall for the beautiful cover of the disc with interesting titles. And a surprise awaits him inside. In all my time of acquaintance with games, only three Russian games are worthy of respect: “Truckers”, “Dungeon Orderlies”, “Cossacks”. They also say that Space Diggers are normal, but I haven’t encountered them. And yet I’ll tell you about the taste and color. But compared to what games are being released now, our games look like a mockery of people who still pay money for it.
I don’t want to disappoint you, but “Cossacks” is not a Russian game at all.
They also say that Space Diggers are normal, but I haven’t encountered them.
Oh yes, “Space Truckers” is a great game To: [strong]DIMASIKWWW[/strong]
Tell me how to play the game black mark without a disk.
You’re in the wrong topic. Technical problems are not solved here.

the game is sad shit, dark as a macaque’s ass, uber clever riddles, and most importantly! polypypisic white switch on a WHITE WALL!

A very good game. Unexpectedly well made with special attention to detail.

At least this is definitely the best action game to come from Russia.
