All other social media sites require users to register to use their services. Not us. The only time any attorney needs not register is to get a free web page, to blog, to free cle or participate in a discussion post viewing posted articles, reading discussion threads or viewing classified ads does not require registration.
Registration for the cle is mandatory because state bars require the cle provider to issue a certificate of completion to the attorney upon completion of the courses taken and to that we need the name and bar number of the attorney but only for the state bar. To give an attorney a web site or host a blog or to allow an attorney to participate in a discussion requires registration so we know who the attorney is but again that information is only between the attorney and us and is not going for third party marketing.
Attorney Et Al developed its complete state packages for those states which allows attorneys to complete all of their cle by alternative Internet methods. Many states limit the total number of cle hours which an attorney over the Internet even though such completion is verified Attorneys should confirm with their state bars, as the requirements change frequently, how many cle hours can be taken online so they do not complete more than can be counted. A simple email to their state bars requesting to know how many hours they can take online from Attorney Et Al, an approved cle provider since 1996 in California, Florida and Colorado will count towards their cle requirement will get the desired information. In New York for instance the entire New York Cle requirement can be taken from Attorney Et Al under New York’s CLE reciprocity rules.
